Retirement of Ganguly

According to my feeling, the right decision(thing) to be taken at right  time will be always good feeling for anyone as well as his/her well wishers.

The present case is that the former indian skipper saurav ganguly has announced a retirement  after the present test series versus australia. SOURAV GANGULY has more than 18000 run and decades of experience with him .ok he is not the best in this world at the moment but than he is a agressive man who has produced some magnificent innings under pressure.
he is the only captain to defeat steve waugh’s australian juggernaut.
he should be given due respect.

He has achieved everything he has to… and moreover india needs to build a team for 2011 world cup. and also progressively build a good test team out of the newcomers so that we don’t crumble when the seniors retire suddenly. that was just what happened with the west indies team in the 80’s. Viv richards, malcolm marshall, etc all the greats retired in quick succession and left a gaping hole in the team which has not been filled till now.

if we don’t want that to happen to our team then we need to make way for newcomers so that they can get better experienced in tests.

so i think saurav has taken all these into consideration and made a wise decision to allow the building process of team india. and also.. “its best to retire when people say’why now?’ rather than wait for them to say’why not?'”

please enter your opinions about the present topic.

Ganguly is no doubt one of the best captains our country has ever produced. He brought in that aggressive charisma to captaincy when it was most needed to rejuvenate Indian cricket especially after the match-fixing scandals in which we lost senior players like Azharuddin, Jadeja etc. But all good things has to come to an end and am very happy that he will be retiring on a high now when the Indian cricket team is doing very well !!!
